These Malasadas were kind of dense. They come with the cream of different flavors. All flavors that we got were pretty good. The only problem for me was the price, they are too expensive for malasadas.

Oh my. My sister in law just visited us from Castro Valley and she brought us a box of malasadas from Bay House Cakery. Yikes that was good. Devoured it before taking a photo but quickly got a pic of the remaining two. The one my husband and I split had some kind of creme inside, maybe banana? It was heavenly. Guess it's a good thing we don't live close otherwise this place would be dangerous! Super yum. If we're in Castro Valley, would definitely stop by to check this place out.

Ordered ube and strawberry cream. The malasadas weren't overly sweet or greasy, which I like. The donut part was a little bit dense unlike traditional malasadas but delicious nonetheless. Ube was pretty good but strawberry cream lacked fruitiness and tasted like plain custard. Note that you have to order a minimum of three malasadas per flavor. I wish they'd let us mix and match.

I brought malasadas for a Hawaiian themed bridal shower and decided to go with Bay House Cakery and they were a hit! They were super delicious and yummy and everyone loved them. We got several different flavors - everything from ube to haupia to lillikoi to guava - all super rich in flavors! Definitely recommend getting them to get a hint of Hawaii in your life. :) Highly recommend!

We discovered Bay House Cakery via Denica's Real Food Kitchen.... as you can pre-order a batch of malasadas for the next week and select one of Denica's three locations for pick up which is FANTASTIC! We've ordered from Bay House Cakery twice already and I honestly think I've gained 10 pounds. Their malasadas are THAT GOOD. I mean, who doesn't love warm, fluffy, fried dough rolled around in sugar?... or even better, filled with delicious flavors such as ube or guava?! I'll be ordering from Bay House Cakery on the regular. I'll need to stock up on the stretchy pants, ha :) You can easily place an order from Bay House Cakery by ordering online (either Bay House Cakery or Denica's websites). Don't wait as they sell out FAST.

I'd been thinking about malasadas for weeks. When I saw a creme brûlée flavor on the weekly menu, there was no question about it: I was driving to Dublin. Order online or DM @bayhousecakery on IG if you want to mix and match. Isabella responded to my message within a couple hours and I paid in advance via Venmo. Each week features different flavors, so if you see one you like, don't hesitate. We ordered the creme brûlée, passionfruit, and cappuccino flavors. The dough was soft and thick, but didn't sit super heavy in our stomachs. The vanilla bean filling in the creme brûlée was a highlight. I just wish the sugar coating held up to that standard. Unfortunately, it tasted too burnt for me. But if I see vanilla bean on a future menu, I'm definitely jumping on it! I wish the malasadas were warm upon pickup, but not a major issue; they were still delicious. Highly recommend you do NOT eat this in your car unless it's directly over the box lol. Super sugary and it will get everywhere. Have a wet nap handy!

Found out about these wonderful malasadas from my sister who mentioned they were selling them for pre-order and pickup from Denica's Real Food Kitchen in Castro Valley and Dublin (Walnut Creek location is closed). Isabella, the owner offers 4 flavor option per week: Thursday - Sundays only with pickup starting at 10am right now...wonderful flavors like pumpkin, espresso, and guava...they also had ube which i know is all the rage but passed on that..not a fan and don't get it. Lol Filling were lightly sweet (which I prefer) and hints of each flavor...my fave was the espresso: custardy, creamy, coffee flavored with the next being the pumpkin. Guava has a very mild flavor and could've used a tad more flavor but it was good! All lightly dusted with granulated sugar *** 4 - 4.5 stars *** I would recommend picking up your order when they're ready as no fried item tastes as good as it sits and best when they're fresh...I picked up mine about 12:30 and 1/2 of the sugar was melted and exterior got a little greasy but still a yummy product! Unfortunately, you can not walk into Denica's expecting to get some malasadas...must go to Instagram and DM her your order which will set you back $12/3. Yeah, yeah will log in for food! Flavors change weekly! Enjoy!
